New to blogging.  New to GOOD personal finance habits.  New to investing.

I am in my late 20s, and live in Canada.  My fiancee and I plan to get married in 2013.  This will be preceeded by buying a condo.  We aren’t looking for anything outrageous – just a happy future in which we work to live, not live to work.

I have been fortunate enough to get a good education.  I have a good job (which I love).  I have been in the workforce for close to 5 years now.  Unfortunately, I mistook having an above average salary to mean being financially secure.  In 2011, through various events, I learnt that this was not the case.  It could have been a lot worse though, and I view 2011 as my personal ‘kick in the ass’ year.

In December, 2011, I started doing a lot of reading on personal finance and investing.  These blogs/websites/forums were the catalyst I needed to start my own plan for a secure and hassle-free financial future.  I decided to create this blog to document my ‘adventures’ as well as to share (and learn) from others.

Thanks for reading!
